Reaching Out to Businesses & Non-Profits...

With any change, even if it is positive, there is stress involved. Emotions can range from anxiety and mild irritation to great sadness and intense fear.

In business, this stress affects daily office functions, the quality of projects and their timely completions, inter-office communications, and dealings with customers. It challenges a company on every level.

Most of us are familiar with the phrase change is inevitable, growth is optional! Barb's insightful and uplifting training demonstrates how change and growth can be a vibrant, exhilarating and productive process for your company and your employees.

Barb will bring hope and laughter and understanding to the process, sharing tools that make the journey a success whether you are:

  • Involved In the upheaval of reorganization
  • Dealing with the chaos of growth
  • Simply decide to begin a project or your next quarter with renewed energy and focus

Reaching Out to Health Care Providers...

Barb and her husband received a middle-of-the-night phone call from Australia that their college-age daughter had been in a car accident, was in a coma and on life support and was being airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Upon arriving half way around the world, they learned the extent of her trauma. She had a closed-head injury with two skull fractures; a fistula behind her left eye; a severe dissection of her left carotid artery; a mild dissection of her right carotid artery; one lung punctured, partially collapsed and leaking air; the other lung damaged and filling with blood; and a severely broken left arm.

She miraculously survived. Even more miraculously, she had no brain damage.

Barb shares the insights she has gathered from hours spent in the hospital, both in Australia and back in the States. She watched her daughter journey from ICU to hospital room. She witnessed the demands of physical, occupational, and speech therapies. She felt the anxieties of outpatient care and the blessings of watching her daughter move back into the world.

Because of Barb's tremendous respect for health care providers, she shares her story as a reminder of the;

  • Power they have to heal, to comfort, to guide
  • Responsibility they have to be clear and straightforward with information they share
  • Communication skills they need when family members deal with stress, each in their own way
  • Patience they need to repeat information over and over to people who are battling from moment to moment with their own faith and fears.
